LED Lights

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

LED Lights have the potential to replace many lighting source such as Christmas tree lights. It would be ideal if light emitting diodes could replace Christmas tree lights because 1) it could be more energy efficient, 2) they are more durable, unlike regular Christmas lights who burn out easily, 3) they have a life span that is much longer so you do not need to replace your bulbs frequently.

LED Lights will also probably be used as a lighting source for many signs throughout the city and businesses. This will save cities and tax payers a lot of money because light emitting diodes are affordable to purchase and the energy bill that needs to be paid will also be reduced. Since the city requires a lot of lighting throughout the whole city, the savings will be significantly large enough. Types of lights that would be replaced with light emitting diode lights would be traffic lights since they are used all over the city. Pedestrian lights would also be replaced with light emitting diodes because they too are used all over the city. For any other signs such as construction signs/messages or message boards throughout the highway would use LED lights, for a matter of fact, this already has been done.

Lighting billboards could use LED lights. The only problem is that light emitting diodes are not as bright as regular lighting source, however, it is most likely that it will get brighter as the LED lights are being updated in technology in the up and coming years. Huge digital TV boards that you find all over metropolitan cities would also use light emitting diodes to screen their commercials. Since these boards would require a lot of lighting and lights, the savings made from converting to light emitting diodes would be a large sum.

In the future, maybe more and more people will start to slowly replace all of their lighting source with light emitting diode lights. Lighting is very important in where we live today, we are surrounded by it everywhere we go any time of the day. We use it so often that it does take up a lot of energy which is not great for our environment. By reducing energy simply by converting to light emitting diodes, we can save the environment from additional harm and we can also save a lot of money as well that could be used somewhere else.
